Our aims
The Group will work towards improving access to goods and services for people with disabilities.
Values and respect
Our Group has strong equality values and we will not tolerate any form of behaviour which is derogatory, demeaning or insulting to other people on the basis of age, disability, race, faith, gender, sexual orientation or any other personal characteristic.Members are expected to be tolerant, respectful of others and avoid giving offence.Members must not to bring our Group into disrepute because of the way they behave or live their lives.
Exercise your right to vote
Always vote for what you think is the best outcome for the Group and for the people we aim to support – people with disabilities.Your opinion matters
Do not allow another member to influence your vote or opinion. If you feel you are being pressured to vote in a particular way by another member, you must tell a member of the Executive Committee, who will take action.
Democratic decision-making
Sometimes a decision will be made with which you do not agree. Group members must stand by majority decisions and not act individually.
Conflicts of interest
If you have a conflict of interest, you must let the Board know.
Take part
This is a proactive group which works in the community to make the needs of disabled people known to service providers. We know that personal time is precious, but if you have a little time to spare, please let us know how you can help.
Finally…..
This Group will only achieve its aims if local disabled people join us. Thank you for supporting the Group. Together we can stand up for people with disabilities
